Frequently asked questions
1. What exactly is this — is it just compression tights?
No. The Apex looks like compression tights from the outside, but it has a built-in structural support layer embedded directly at the knees, hips, and IT bands. Most compression tights apply even fabric pressure across the leg. The Apex adds a 2mm layer of medical-grade neoprene precisely where your knee needs structural support — making it closer to a lightweight knee brace you can actually wear all day.
2. What is the neoprene layer and why does it matter?
Neoprene is a medical-grade material used in professional knee braces and orthopaedic supports. In the Apex, a thin 2mm perforated neoprene layer sits over the knee joint inside the garment. It absorbs impact, retains warmth in the joint, improves stability, and enhances your body's natural sense of where your knee is during movement — reducing the risk of misstep or injury. You feel supported without wearing anything extra on the outside.
3. Will it actually help with my knee pain?
For most people, yes. The combination of compression, neoprene support, and joint warmth addresses the three main contributors to everyday knee discomfort — inflammation, instability, and cold stiffness. 87% of Voren users reported a noticeable reduction in knee pain within the first week of regular wear. That said, if you have a serious medical condition, we always recommend consulting your doctor or physiotherapist alongside using the product.
4. How is this different from just buying a knee sleeve or knee brace?
A knee sleeve sits on top of whatever you're wearing and slides down during movement. A rigid brace is bulky, visible, and uncomfortable for all-day use. The Apex integrates the support directly into the garment — no sliding, no bulk, nothing visible on the outside. You get targeted knee support that moves with your body, stays in place, and looks like regular activewear. Most people find they wear it far more consistently than a traditional brace because it doesn't feel like a medical device.
5. What is ExoLayer™?
ExoLayer™ is Voren's proprietary three-layer construction system. Layer one is the OrthoWeave™ compression base — antibacterial, moisture-wicking, four-way stretch fabric that applies graduated pressure. Layer two is the neoprene support core — perforated and positioned precisely over the knees, hips, and IT bands. Layer three is the Grip Lock system — silicone-beaded waistband and internal grip points that keep the entire garment locked in position during movement. Together the three layers work as a single integrated support system rather than just a piece of fabric.
6. Who is this product for?
Anyone who wants to protect, support, or recover their knees without wearing a visible brace. That includes people returning to exercise after a knee injury or surgery, skiers and snowboarders who put lateral stress on the knee, gym-goers doing squats and leg work, runners dealing with IT band or patellar issues, people who are on their feet or kneeling all day at work, and anyone in their 30s, 40s, or 50s who wants to stay active without their knees slowing them down.
7. Can I wear it for everyday activities — not just exercise?
Yes, and that is actually one of the most common use cases. Many Voren wearers put it on in the morning and keep it on all day — walking, climbing stairs, sitting and standing repeatedly, doing errands. The fabric is comfortable enough for all-day wear and the support is beneficial any time your knee is under load, not just during sport.
8. How should it fit and how do I choose my size?
The Apex is designed to fit snug — tighter than regular tights. This is intentional. The compression and neoprene layer need close contact with the knee to function properly. If you are between sizes, size up. Use your waist measurement to find your size on our size guide. If it feels uncomfortably tight at the waist but right at the knee, go up one size. If the knee zone is loose or sliding, go down.
9. How do I wash and care for it?
Cold wash only, gentle cycle, hang to dry. Do not tumble dry, do not iron, do not use fabric softener. Fabric softener degrades the antibacterial treatment in the OrthoWeave™ base over time and reduces the compression effectiveness. With proper care the garment will maintain its compression and support properties for well over a year of regular use.
10. What is your return policy and what if it doesn't work for me?
We offer 60-day hassle-free returns. If the size isn't right, the fit doesn't work for your body, or you simply don't feel the difference — contact us and we will sort it out with no back-and-forth. We are confident in what the product does, but we understand it needs to be experienced to be believed, and we want that to be risk-free for every first-time buyer.
